Searching for primordial black holes in gravitational-wave data
I will overview recent results about individual-event searches for primordial black holes (PBHs) in gravitational-wave data. I will systematically discuss a comprehensive and interconnected list of discriminators that would allow us to rule out, or potentially claim, the primordial (vs astrophysical) origin of a binary by measuring different parameters, including redshift, masses, spins, eccentricity, and tidal deformability. I will present recent work aiming at quantifying the evidence for PBHs in current GW data, and with future detectors Einstein Telescope and LISA, using population studies. Finally, I will discuss the stochastic GW background as a smoking gun for microscopic dark matter relics.
